With a high volume of trades and thousands of clients, the firm needed to implement a secure, reliable system for reporting on:
Account trade activity
Projected settlement day positions
Cash balance
These reports needed to be delivered to the customers via fax or email within the constraints of the night cycle following the close of business in New York. The allowed period of processing was further shortened by the requirement that the foreign clients receive the reports by the beginning of next business day overseas.
Every report and database process involved was optimized for maximum performance. Reports mappings (client - report) were automatically ranked, generated and delivered based on the time zone of the recipient. Additionally, mappings idle due to inactivity were not processed to minimize CPU load and further improving system performance.
Faxes were delivered utilizing least cost routing (LCR) mechanism, allowing the business to cut costs associated with report distribution.
